Laura Dahlmeier is assumed dead after she was hit by a falling rock during a mountaineering expedition in Pakistan. She was 31. Laura was an elite biathlete, excelling in the sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting.

Laura Dahlmeier, an Olympic gold medalist in biathlon, died July 28 as she descended the summit of Laila Peak in Pakistan. It was her wish that no one risk their life to rescue, recover her.
