India's army chief will review security arrangements on Friday and visit the site of a deadly attack on tourists in Indian Kashmir earlier this week, an incident that has led to a fresh crisis with long-time rival and neighbour Pakistan.

Days after the brutal killing of at least 26 people, including tourists, in Pahalgam in the Kashmir Valley, several parts of India witnessed candle marches and protests to mourn the deaths of those killed and to express anger at the terrorist attack.
