Wrexham coach Phil Parkinson has told ESPN that Paul Mullin's loan move to Wigan was the player's decision as he wanted guarantee himself regular football as the Welsh side prepare for the arduous demands of the English Championship.

Paul Mullin has given an insight into what really happened at Wrexham before his recent exit from the club. Back in 2021, Mullin opted to leave Cambridge United and sign for Wrexham. Since then, the Englishman has scored 110 goals in 172 appearances for the Red Dragons.

Mullin, who had been Wrexham’s player of the season in each of the three previous years, was only a bit-part performer when the team won promotion to the second tier last season.
