U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington is "very concerned" about Israel's strikes on Syria. "We're going to be working on that issue as we speak," Rubio said, Reuters reported. "I just got off the phone with the relevant parties. We're very concerned about it, and hopefully we'll have some updates later today."

Israel’s strikes came after Syria’s military entered Suwayda, a stronghold for the minority Druze community. Clashes between the military and the Druze broke out before Islamist forces allied with the Syrian government joined the fighting.
