AUBURN, Ala.- Former Auburn big man Johni Broome joins some elite company after being drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia 76ers. He joins Auburn legend Charles Barkley as the only other Tiger drafted by the 76ers.

“I talked to them at the combine, and we had a very good talk,” Broome said during a Thursday night appearance on SiriusXM. “Just how my schedule was, I wasn’t able to get out there (for a workout). But it’s a good group. I think I’m in a good situation. I walk into a very good team that I can help win games and get in the playoffs.”

The Auburn power forward/center played five seasons of college hoops, starting at Morehead State, an HBCU in Kentucky, then two years at Auburn, who played 'anti-hero' in the 2024-25 NCAA tournament.
