Air India faces fresh turbulence following last week’s fatal crash as additional safety inspections on its Dreamliner fleet lead to flight delays, cancellations and growing passenger anxiety.

A London-bound Air India flight, reportedly carrying 242 passengers on board, crashed in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on Thursday. A video emerged on social media showing smoke emanating from the airport premises.

DGCA has said that the pilot and co-pilot of the plane had sent out a Mayday call after takeoff. However, the ATC could not establish contact with the plane after that.
