【ワシントン】米連邦議会上院は1日、ドナルド・トランプ大統領の大型税制・歳出法案を51対50の賛成多数で可決した。JD・バンス副大統領の1票が決め手となった。共和党指導部は前日から徹夜で反対派の説得に当たっていた。

WASHINGTON—The Senate geared up for an unpredictable battle Monday over final passage of the GOP’s “big, beautiful bill,” after Republicans narrowly advanced the measure in a 51-49 weekend vote.

米共和党のスーン上院院内総務は、トランプ大統領が設定した７月４日の期限までに大型税制・歳出法案を可決させようと奔走している。だがその前に、法案の一部に反対を表明しているおよそ８人の共和党上院議員への対応が必要となっている。

共和党は指導部が反対派の説得に成功し、党として政治的勝利を収めた。上院議員で造反したのはメーン州のコリンズ議員とノースカロライナ州のティリス議員、ケンタッキー州のポール議員の３人。
